As all knowledge that is, is also experiential, every iota of knowledge has it's very own responsibility as every word is a path of study you've chosen to be on or have ceased to. I may never have an impact on the world in the way they have, but I consider myself privileged to learn from them, and try in any small way, if nothing more than through my own principles, to make a difference. There are so many who have been oppressed or assaulted and continue to fight and lead on, remaining an example and inspiration to the rest of us. Poetry gives us an opportunity to think outside buzzwords and trending ideas, to consider the POV of individuals, but also collective groups, to speak up for others, to honor ourselves.
